Welcome to the Upside-Up Marketing Podcast!

I've created this podcast because I think most of the way we do "traditional" marketing has things upside-down.
Creating your offers and services, then using marketing to convince people to buy it, has never quite sat right with me.
Plus it's really hard!

So I've developed another way. I've brought together all my expertise from my 20-year background in understanding people, through psychology and a long career in market research working with government and some of the biggest brands in the country, with my experiences running my business as a solopreneur and working with many many more, to bring you Upside-Up Marketing.

In Upside-Up marketing, we start with the person. By understanding the people we are wanting to sell to, and by really getting to the bottom of what's going on for them, we can develop offers they actually want to buy, and sell them in a way that feels good.

No coercion, no icky feeling marketing tactics, no hype and pushiness. Marketing that is respectful. Ethical. And critically, marketing that works.

Speaker:

Using marketing to persuade people to buy your thing is hard, icky and not an effective use of your time. It's an upside down way of doing things. Introducing upside up marketing. Helping you create offers people want to buy and share them in a way that feels good. All over a nice cup of tea.

Hello. Um, welcome to the upside up marketing podcast. I've created this podcast because looking out in the online marketing world. I began to see that everyone seemed to have things a little bit upside down. Most marketing out there, take something that the business owner wants to sell. And then learns different techniques to persuade people that that's the thing they want to buy. Now, I think this is kind of the wrong way around. I think it makes things a lot harder than they need to be. It's what leads to that sort of uncomfortable feeling. You get around marketing where it doesn't quite sit right with you, but everyone says, it's the thing you have to do. Whether that's adding scarcity, adding discounts, the way you present the offer, in a way to sort of manipulate sales and convince people and almost trick them into buying. Or getting people onto sales calls. So you can spend an hour persuading them that this is the thing they want to buy. And it never quite sat right with me to do marketing like that. So I developed a different approach and I called it upside up marketing. So that ways upside down this way is upside up. And this is where you get to know your audience. You get to know the people you want to work with and you understand them well enough to understand what it is. They need a more to the point what it is that they think they need so that you can create an offer. They actually want to buy. You look at their, goals and their dreams and what they're trying to achieve. You look at how your skills, knowledge, and experience can help them get towards that. And you build your offer around this. And I find when you've got something people actually want to buy, marketing's a whole lot easier. So. I developed this podcast to share with you the ways that I do this in my business and the ways I help my clients do it in their business. I'm coming at this from, a long background in psychology, behavioral sciences, and market research. So I've spent the last 20 plus years understanding how people behave the way they do. And also the way they think they behave and why they think they behave the way they do, because these aren't always the same thing and how to unpick that to get at what's really going on. And I help my clients do this for their business, for that ideal clients. And, roll that all up into their offers, their messaging, their content. So they're completely aligned with what their audience, their ideal clients want and need. I developed this podcast to share all this with you. And I can't wait to get started. Episodes we'll be dropping every other Tuesday. So make sure you hit subscribe wherever you are watching this or listening to this in order to, make sure you are updated when new episodes come out. pour yourself a cup of tea and let's get going.
